Join us for our Annual “Healthcare Year in Review.” This meeting is designed to give practice managers an update on important laws, regulations, and initiatives that impact the daily operations of your practice. Back by popular demand will be Jennifer Cox who will provide an Overview of Federal Healthcare Reform, including Trends in Enforcement, a State Legislative Update, Case Law Review and The Year Ahead—What Can We Expect?
In the afternoon, Rosemarie Nelson will present "HITECH Action Plan: Optimize your EHR Implementation for Success". You will learn how best to transition your practice to meaningful use of an electronic health record (EHR). Whether you’ve already got an EHR or you’re in the selection process, identify the steps you need to take to best meet your practice’s requirements and qualify your physicians for the maximum stimulus incentives. Key issues such as transitioning workflow to meet meaningful use objectives, managing change in your practice, and setting realistic expectations and goals will include lessons learned from the field.

Join us for our 2010 Annual Meeting and November Educational Program where we will elect new officers, conduct our Annual Business Meeting and welcome Lee Ann Webster, MA, CPA, FACMPE and Frederic R. Simmons, Jr., CPA, CMPE who will present "Financial Management for Today's Medical Practices." This meeting is designed to give practice managers the skills to access practice performance/ costs using financial indicators and internal comparisons; apply cost accounting and allocation principles to medical practice financial data; utilize the Resource-based Relative Values Scale (RBRVS); identify common internal control risks in a medical practice and procedures that can reduce those risks and utilize budgets in a medical practice.
Frederic Simmons and Lee Ann Webster will begin the morning with an Overview of Medical Practice Financial Statements, Analytical Procedures, Current Year vs. Prior Year Comparisions, Cost Accounting and Cost Allocations. After lunch, the RVU System and RVU Applications will be discussed, along with Internal Control in a Medical Practice and Budgets in a Medical Practice.
We are very excited to annouce that 2010 marks the 30th Anniversary of our Association! Please join us immediately following the Educational Program for CMGMA's 30th Anniversary Celebration. A cocktail and hors d'ouevres reception will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
